It is amazing how it is so often the details that make all the difference. As many people know (& many people don't) I spent a great many years of my childhood living in Japan. It has, however (& unfortunately) been nearly 14 years since I moved "stateside" and have never been back.
No matter where I am or what I am doing though, when I stumble upon a bottle of Ramune (ラムネ) soda with a marble in the bottle I am instantly transported back to Green Pole Road with its covered sidewalks, little stationery shops, sticker-picture machines and culminating Nagasakia super-store (complete with - in my opinion - the best curry ever)
